Prescription Sunglasses: Polarized vs Un-Polarized Lenses

By: Anthony Tangeman

Something that I did not anticipate was that polarized lenses actually make viewing certain types of screens quite difficult. For example, when looking at my phone I’ll see vibrant waves of color move across the screen.

Television screens also had a similar effect, and apparently electronic gauges on things such as boats can be difficult to view while wearing polarized lenses. Depending on your needs and when you expect to wear polarized lenses, this may or may not be a big issue. I could use my phone while wearing these glasses just fine. The wild coloration was slightly annoying, but again was not a big deal to me.
